Discover Dutch Masters
in Utrecht and Amersfoort
Kunsthal KAdE Amersfoort devotes an exhibition to Caspar van Wittel, one of the greatest seventeenth century artists, born in the city of Amersfoort.
Unitl 24 March, the well-attended exhibition Utrecht, Caravaggio and Europe could be seen in Centraal Museum Utrecht. The works of Utrecht caravaggists Hendrick ter Brugghen, Gerard van Honthorst and Dirck van Baburen traveled to Munich, where the exhibition on the European followers of Caravaggio can be seen until 22 July 2019 in museum Alten Pinakothek in München.

Caspar van Wittel (1653-1736) was born in Amersfoort, left around 1673 for Italy, earned a good reputation for himself there and never returned to the Netherlands. Today, the vast majority of his works are in collections in Italy, England and Spain. Museum Flehite and Kunsthal KAdE Amersfoort honour this master, who is virtually unknown in the Netherlands, with a major retrospective.Website Kunsthal KAdE
