On Saturday 29 June, the ninth Open Garden Day will take place in Utrecht. Hidden behind the walls of the historic centre of Utrecht city lays the Utrecht city gardens and enclosed gardens: green oases of peace and quiet, suprising samples of garden architecture. Once a year anyone who is interested is given the unique opportunity to visit these special places.

The Open Garden Day has become an annual tradition, visited by approximately 1500 people. The route includes private gardens, and also the enclosed gardens of institutions. Large gardens, small gardens, courtyards and church cloister quadrangles, gardens with an austere layout and gardens with sculptures and ponds: a variegated offer for the garden enthusiast. Every single garden has a distinct character and most provide a wonderful view of the surrounding buildings.

Passepartout During the Open Garden Day Utrecht you can visit the participating gardens between 10 am and 5 pm on presentation of a passe-partout. The program booklet you receive with the passe-partout contains a description of the locations and a map with walking routes.
The passe-partouts are available at the Tourist Information Center, Domplein 1 in Utrecht.
